African Union asks member states to ignore an arrest warrant against Bashir on to say, although they do not condone impunity, the ICC seems to target only African leaders. Nevertheless, as an ICC member state, Kenya shall cooperate with the Hague tribunal and arrest warrants are issued.

French Interior Minister Claude Gueant said the French police are trying to ensure security for Syrian citizens who live in exile.

Gueant said the Syrian citizens in France often get threats, Gueant itself does not mention the threat of what is often experienced and what kind of protection will be provided for the people of Syria.

Chavez became the initiator of a summit of leaders from 33 countries which starts today in Caracas, Venezuela. This meeting was followed by the countries ranging from Brazil to Jamaica. Hopefully, this meeting will be a great alliance to counter the influence of the United States.

The head of state who attended this meeting to see new communities in Latin America and the Caribbean countries as the main forum for resolving regional conflicts. They were determined to build closer ties and promote economic development.

The birth of this Caribbean Block and signifies that the United States no longer plays an important diplomatic role in various regional issues.

"America has lost much of the region's space, although it is still an important country, the country's most powerful region," said Eduardo Gamarra, a Latin American Professor at Florida International University in Miami, as quoted by the Associated Press on Friday (2 / 12 / 2011)

But Gamarra still doubt the commitment of these countries in forming a regional alliance to counterbalance U.S. power.

Previous meetings scheduled to take place in July but had been delayed since Chavez had to undergo treatment for his cancer disease.

This Summit is the first time Chavez's appearance in the international meeting after a period of recovery, due to cancer.
